A game called Rowdy Readers has been developed to tempt north Durham youngsters into libraries this summer.
Youngsters have to gather 12 stickers - including depictions of an executioner, Guy Fawkes and a highwayman - which they can collect each time they go to the library.
Based on the Horrible Histories educational children books by County Durham author Terry Deary, the stickers complete a poster that entitles the youngster to a free ticket to the Durham Light Infantry Museum and Durham Art Gallery.
A full-paying adult must accompany the children to the museum, which has Horrible Histories zones for children among its displays.
The Rowdy Readers game has been produced by Durham County Council's Arts, Libraries, and Museums youth services team, with the poster and stickers designed and painted by David Boyes, the department's promotion and marketing manager
