YOUNGSTERS who fancy a bit of adventure this summer - but also don't mind sitting back and being entertained - can take advantage of a scheme devised by a north Durham council.
Derwentside District Council's leisure department has started a Leisure Rangers unit, which will supervise fun days for children during the holidays.
Parents are also invited to attend the 16 "park days" organised by the rangers, which will feature sports, games and professional entertainment.
The days will be organised at a range of venues, including Allensford, Blackhill, Annfield Plain, White Le Head, Kings Head Fields, Stanley and Craghead.
Further details can be obtained from the leisure hotline on (01207) 218014, 10am to 1pm, Monday to Friday
