A MAN is appealing for information on two Wear Valley war heroes whose bravery earned them the highest honours awarded to soldiers.
During the First World War only 180 soldiers were awarded the military medal for Bravery in the Field on three separate occasions.
Ian Hall, from Leeds, is trying to gather information on two of these soldiers who came from Wear Valley.
JH Collinson, from Kirk Merrington, served in France with the Yorkshire Regiment in October 1915 and Herbert Little, from York Terrace, Willington, was a corporal in the 9th Yorkshire Regiment and was killed in 1917.
Mr Hall, from Garforth, Leeds, is interested in photographs, history, medals and the full names of the men.
If anyone can help they can call Mr Hall on (0113) 2867825 or write to him at 3 Farfield Court, Garforth, Leeds, LS25 1ES
