LEEHOLME have a seven-point lead in division one of the Durham and District Bowling Lea-gue after beating Shotton 9-1. Glenholme, Crook, with a 10-0 win over Elm Tree, Stockton, move into second place.
Their rink scores were: Glenholme skips first: D. McDonald 18 E. A. Clarke 15; B. Richardeon 27 W Theakston 15; R. Bibby 2 L. Whitehouse 12; D. Chard 24 F. Dunn 15. Total 97-57.
The three teams at the foot of the table all lost again, King George V beaten 8-2 by Coxhoe, Elm Tree 10-0 by Glenholme and Trimdon 6-4 by Bowburn. As two clubs will be relegated to division two at the end of the season it would appear to be 'any two from three.'
Ever Ready lost the top spot in division two to Langley Park who are on course for a swift return to the top flight. Ever Ready club, who play at Craghead, lost pole position at Addison Park, while Langley Park were collecting all 10 points when visiting Chilton.
The rink scores were: Chilton skips first: M. Younghusband 7 S-Wadge 31; J. Jones 4 W Nich-olson 26; S. Yorke 14 G. Cartmell 23; W. Henderson 12 D.Hender-son 19. Total 37-99.
At the foot of the table, Wheatley Hill recorded their first win in fine style, taking all 10 points against Sherburn Village.
The runaway leaders of division three, Wingate, were beaten 6-4 by Wolsingham but still have a 13-point lead over Nevilles Cross, who have a game in hand. Nevilles Cross travel to Wingate on Saturday and as both clubs are looking for promotion it should prove to be an interesting fixture.
Nevilles Cross collected all 10 points in their game last Saturday against local rivals Belmont.
