CANCER sufferers in the region are to benefit from a series of fundraising trips.
The trips have been organised by the Teesdale committee of the Cancer Research Campaign, which hopes to raise thousands of pounds for sufferers in the North-East.
Organisers are encouraging people to sign up for any of the trips as soon as possible.
The trips will be held in November, January and February. They include a two-day trip to a Christmas musical event in Thursford, near Norwich, on November 28 and 29.
This will be followed by three and four-day trips to London's Tower Thistle Hotel, held between January 12 and Feb 5.
Ian Douglas, of the Teesdale committee, said: "I think people sometimes worry that the money we raise goes to a big collection in London and that cancer sufferers in their own region never see a penny of it.
"But the money we raise goes to people in the North-East, and is a vital contribution in the fight against all forms of cancer."
