THE Friends of Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle, will stage a family fun day, on Saturday, August 12.
Among activities, from 11am to 5pm, artist Trevor Atkinson will be working with visitors to create The Bowes longest landscape, using the museum's collections and grounds for inspiration.
Trevor will encourage visitors to try their hand at oil painting and contribute to a panoramic group piece.
Visitors will also have the chance to create their own personal landscape scene and to enjoy other demonstrations, including stained glass and embroidery, inside the museum.
There will be displays by the Meccano society and children's craft activities.
Children will be able to make their own butterfly kite, draught excluder or magic model.
Other attraction will include miniature steam engine rides and a vintage car display. Tickets are £2, and to pre-book, call the museum on (01833) 690606.
