FERRYHILL made only their second victory of the season in the Worthington CIU Summer Snoo-ker League but they were taken to the decider by the visiting Durham City. Gary Ward put City ahead but then Bernie Jones and Mark Wilson scored for the home team.
Barry Stoddart levelled the match only to see Ferryhill go to victory when Adrian Jones beat Hamed Choudhury in the decider.
While Ferryhill were making their second win, Willington were going down to their second defeat when they only managed one point on their visit to Wheatley Hill B. Paul Atkinson was the only Willington winner, while Steve Cave, John Frost, Terry Ellison and Barry Coston won for the Hill.
Old Shildon took advantage of the fact that Fishburn A were without a match and moved four points clear at the top of the first division after only losing one point at Stanley Central. Alan Todd was the only home winner, while Michael Pratt, Billy Goggins, Charlie Blake and Jossie Aldworth scored for the leaders.
Sherburn Village came back from a 2-0 deficit at home to Wheatley Hill A but then lost the decider. This win moved the Hill into equal third place with Witton Gilbert.
The battle between second and third teams in the second division was very close. Fred Plews put the visiting third placed Crook Belle Vue ahead but then Wingate moved ahead through Pat McCoy and Geoff Howe.
John Warriner levelled the match and then Harold Lomax beat Kevin Thirlway in the decider. This leaves Crook just a point behind Wingate with a match in hand.
Meadowfield hold a four points lead at the top of division three following their odd point win at Crowtrees. Keith McLaughlan and Sonny Hann won for the home side, but the Hughes brothers, Stephen, Malcolm and Craig, all won for Meadowfield.
Newhouse B occupy the second place in the third division but they were hard pressed to win by the odd point at Leeholme. Adrian Forster and Ray Gill won for Leeholme with Alan McCluskey and Brian Eltringham levelling. In the decider Darren Jackson beat Leeholme's Tony Clish.
Mark Howe, of Newton Aycliffe, beat the visiting Ian Renwick, of Witton Gilbert, to clinch victory for the home side. Ronnie Hall and John Briddick had earlier won for Newton Aycliffe with John Rooney Senior and Ian Kerr replying.
Shotton Palms missed their chance of getting back among the first division leaders when they went down in the decider at Spennymoor A.
Dave Swindle put Palms ahead but then Eddie Rhodes and Paul Biddle scored for Moors. Colin Jobes set up the decider in which Kevin Riley beat the visiting Paul Hickman.
Fishburn B were never behind when they visited Billy Row and won in the decider. Keith Binks put the visitors ahead with Ken Campbell squaring the match.
George Whitelock restored Fishburn's lead only to see Ken Rider level. In the decider Fishburn's Wayne Oliver beat Alan Hodgson.
After leading 2-0 at home, Newhouse A needed Keith Mann to beat Brandon's John Middleton to make an odd point victory. Steve Mountain and John Maddox put Newhouse ahead but Brian Graham and John Hall set up the decider.
