HARD-OF-HEARING cinema-goers are being given the chance to enjoy an animated blockbuster without needing a hearing aid.
Thirsk's volunteer-run Ritz Cinema has acquired one of only five subtitled prints in the UK of the hit film Chicken Run.
The subtitled version will be shown during the film's run at the cinema this month, as well as a non-subtitled print.
Volunteer Marc Davies said: "It is something the cinema exhibitors are testing and this was brought to our attention when we had a film selection meeting.
"It means we have got two copies of the film and if we get positive feedback we might do it again in the future."
The subtitled version will be shown on Sunday, August 12, and Wednesday, August 16, at the 7.30pm performances
