THE funeral of Darlington man Lee Haymer takes place in the town today.
Lee, 23, of Dickinson Street, was found collapsed on a footpath in St Cuthbert's Way last Saturday night.
Two women, one a trainee nurse, found Lee lying face down on a pavement and fought to save his life, but he later died at Darlington Memorial Hospital.
A post-mortem examination confirmed there was nothing suspicious about his death.
Police say an appeal in The Northern Echo for people to come forward has been helpful in tracing his last movements.
A spokesman for Darlington police said: "Two people came forward as a result of the appeal in The Northern Echo.
"One of the people saw Lee fall over and confirmed he was on his own. There was no foul play."
The funeral is being held at 10.30am today, at St John's Church, followed by cremation at Darlington crematorium.
