A SOLDIER from the region is ensuring peace-keeping troops in Kosovo can maintain vital communications with headquarters.
Signaller Daniel Raw, of 7th Armoured Brigade, the Royal Corps of Signals, is serving with the British contribution to the Nato-led peace implementation force (KFOR).
As a radio relay operator Daniel, of Stockton-on-Tees, provides secure radio contact to brigade headquarters in central Pristina.
He said: "The Hungarians are the guard force for the camp. I've never worked with another army or nation this closely before, so I'm getting a rare insight into new weapons and new tactics."
Daniel is due to complete his tour of duty this month.
