RESIDENTS have cleaned their streets in readiness for a major revamp.
People in Salem Street and Salem Street South, in the Hendon area of Sunderland, joined forces with the Banks of the Wear Housing Association to clean up on Saturday.
The streets had been earmarked for demolition, but the plans were dropped after residents protested.
Now the housing association aims to seeking funding from the Housing Corporation to refurbish the homes
