A POLICE officer was struck on the head with a shoe after a woman was arrested for being drunk and disorderly.
Emma Louise Hudson, 21, of Brinkburn Road, Darlington, was thrown out of the Mardi Gras nightclub in Gladstone Street, Darlington, early on Friday morning.
Sedgefield magistrates heard that police saw Hudson kicking out at doorstaff as she attempted to get back in. She sat down and lashed out when a police officer tried to move her on. She was arrested and taken to the police station.
She kicked out towards a police officer and her clog-style shoe flew off and hit him on the head, causing a small abrasion.
Hudson admitted assaulting a police officer and being drunk and disorderly.
She was given a six-month conditional discharge, ordered to pay £50 compensation to the officer and £40 costs.
