A CAF that mixes Mexican and Mediterranean recipes is tickling tastes buds in Stanley after winning backing from the Prince's Trust.
Sharon Chatton and Jim Coulson have set up their Meximed cafe and takeaway in Front Street with a £3,000 loan from the trust.
The Stanley couple specialise in "fusion cuisine'', in which the two styles of food are mixed.
Sharon said: "Apart from the loan from the Trust, and an enterprise allowance from Consett Enterprise Agency, we have had no outside help and have poured everything we own into the business."
Jim said: "Fusion cuisine is unique to this area and Stanley people have been quick to appreciate it.
"We are grateful to the Prince's Trust for their belief in our enthusiasm.
