THE Clarion's sister paper, The Northern Echo, is gearing up for a great day of racing fun at one of the region's best loved racecourses.
The paper is sponsoring this Sunday's meeting at Redcar which promises to be the finale to a full weekend of racing, with action and entertainment for all the family.
And there's a chance to meet some of the team behind The Clarion, which is owned by Newsquest North East, parent company of The Northern Echo.
The gates open at 11am for a myriad of attractions including the TFM Roadshow, National Festival Circus, a funfair and other children's attractions.
The racing gets under way at 2.35pm with the two major races being The Northern Echo Nursery Handicap Stakes and The Clarion Handicap Stakes - both races offer prize money of £10,000.
The Northern Echo race is for two-year-olds over six furlongs and The Clarion contest is for three-year-olds over one mile and three furlongs.
There will also be a special competition for racing enthusiasts - to own a racehorse for a day next year.
The racing starts tomorrow at 2.30pm with an afternoon packed with racing excitement as well as a variety of family attractions in the Course Enclosure
