PUPILS from Wheatlands primary school, Redcar, won first prize at a national science challenge, with their project about light.
The three-stage contest was organised by the Association for Science Education and more than 4,500 pupils from across Britain took part. Year five pupils won an amethyst trophy and £200 worth of science equipment for the school
