BUSINESSES in the Tees Valley have been given a chance to have their say on the future of work in the area.
Manufacturing Challenge Tees Valley, which is drawing up a bid to run a new business support service, called a meeting at the Cellnet Riverside Stadium in Middlesbrough yesterday to hear what businesses want from the project.
The meeting was one in a series of consultations with firms that have been set up by the Tees Valley Partnership, which created the Manufacturing Challenge.
Former chairman Colin Scarst said: "What is absolutely vital if the new small business service is really to do its job is that it must be customer-led, providing the kind of services which local companies really need.
"We need to hear from as wide a cross-section as possible if we are to grasp the opportunity of creating a support service which can assist existing companies and encourage the creation of many more enterprises in the area.
