A VISITING police horse provided the inspiration for a group of youngsters in Redcar to make police horses out of card.

The activity was part of a series of events to coincide with an exhibition about the history of the police at the Kirkleatham Old Hall Museum. The card craft session took place this week, and the children were joined by a mounted officer from Cleveland Police who answered questions about his job. Next week, the police theme continues, with the chance for children to make police identity cards on Tuesday, and lollystick police puppets on Thursday. The activities are free and are run on a drop-in basis. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
