HUNDREDS of children are enjoying a summer treat, thanks to a North-East company.
Walkers Snack Foods has donated £3,000 for two fun buses to ferry children to Peterlee Leisure Centre, in east Durham.
More than 400 children a week have been taken to the leisure to take part in a swimming pool obstacle course.
Yesterday, John Francis, plant manager at the Peterlee food factory, visited the event, and there was an extra treat for the children when Easington District Council chairman Bill Peardon handed out packets of crisps.
The fun bus service will continue until August 25.
