A PATIENT recovering from having wisdom teeth extracted was shocked to find the doctor had also removed a mole from her forehead, the General Medical Council heard yesterday.
Dr Robert Nigel Clark told Jacqueline Hodgson that he could take off the brown skin in a "two for the price of one" operation.
Mrs Hodgson thought Dr Clark was a dentist and was joking to put her at her ease.
Dr Clark, who qualified in 1994, admitted he had never received a consent form from Mrs Hodgson.
He claims she had agreed verbally but may have forgotten as a result of amnesia caused by the anaesthetic at the Duchess of Kent Hospital, at Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire.
Dr Clark, registered at Les Forfaitures, La Ruette des Forfaltures, Castel, Guernsey, denied that he did not have Mrs Hodgson's consent to remove the mole and that his actions were inappropriate during the operation on December 7, 1998.
The hearing continues
