PARISH councillors are being invited to take to the skies in a bid to solve the continuing problem of aircraft flying low over their community.
For years, people living in Middleton St George have complained about the number of aircraft which fly low over the village.
They say the main problem is caused by the flying clubs based at nearby Teesside International Airport.
Now two of the clubs have invited members of Middleton St George Parish Council to take to the air so they can get a different view of the issue.
The clubs hope the flight will demonstrate the problems pilots have in trying to avoid flying over the village when they land and take off from the airport.
The flight offer has been made to two councillors and is expected to take place in the next couple of weeks.
A dossier on low-flying aircraft has been sent to the Civil Aviation Authority in the hope that steps will be taken to prevent aircraft flying low over Middleton St George and Middleton One Row.
The Civil Aviation Authority has now replied to the parish council, which is considering the contents of the letter.
