POLICE searching for a missing 83-year-old Durham City man urged people last night to search their outhouses and sheds.
Alzheimer's disease sufferer George Alexander Harding was last seen by his wife in the garden of their home in Geoffrey Avenue, Nevilles Cross, at 3pm on Saturday.
Officers think Mr Harding may have taken shelter in someone's garden.
It is also believed the pensioner, who was keen on bus travel, may have left the Durham City area.
An extensive search on Monday failed to find any trace of Mr Harding and a Durham Police spokeswoman said that concern for his safety was mounting.
He is described as 5ft 10in and was wearing grey trousers and a beige short-sleeved T-shirt when last seen.
Anyone with information about Mr Harding is asked to telephone Durham City Police on 0191 - 386 4222.
