MORE than 45 artists from across north Durham will be displaying their work at an exhibition at a tiny hamlet later this month.
Last year, The Snods Edge Arts Exhibition attracted more than 1,500 visitors to see the work of local artists during the bank holiday weekend.
Organisers reckon this year could be even better with artists from across the region contributing work.
It is a long way from the first exhibition nearly 20 years ago when just a few local painters attended the exhibition.
"It was a nice little exhibition and word obviously got out, and it grew and grew," said one of the organisers, Wilf Smurthwaite, of Shotley Bridge.
"We're on a busy road so people pass us sometimes on their way to other local shows. You can't miss us here because there's basically just a few houses and a church hall."
The exhibition is on August 26, 27 and 28 from 10am to 6pm at St John's Church Hall.
