A SHOP called Celebrations lived up to its name after winning a window dressing competition.
The card store, in Fawcett Street, Sunderland, was voted the best of the bunch when city centre managers organised a shop front display competition.
Its garden of the Millennium showpiece was the overall winner of the second WOW What a Window 2000 competition.
It was organised to boost the city's Britain in Bloom hopes and foster a community spirit among city centre traders.
Sunderland City Manager Chris Rawlinson said: "Participating stores have made a tremendous effort with their window displays.
"All entries are of a very high standard.
"The city already looks fantastic with all the floral street displays.
"We feel that our window display competition simply enhances the ambience.
"This competition is about community spirit with city centre retailers showing their support for Britain in Bloom.''
The winners were judged by city Mayor Brian Dodds and Mayoress Sylvia Dodds.
