THE bizarre world of the Harry Potter books came to entertain bookworms at a Teesside library.
Young fans of the wizard and witchcraft tales had the chance to take on the appearance of some of the characters of the worldwide best sellers.
Face painters transformed children who visited Stockton's central library into fantasy figures from the Harry Potter stories of a young trainee wizard. Other characters on offer included those from Alice In Wonderland.
The event was one of several open to children, who helped staff mark 150 years since public libraries were formed.
Other activities included a guessing game for youngsters to identify mystery objects of the Victorian era.
Meanwhile, during the summer holidays, adults are invited to the Book and Banter Club, which meets every Wednesday, from 10.30am to midday.
Also on offer, at the library open technology centre, is a taster session on the Internet. To book one, ring (01642) 393977.
For event details, ring Victoria Hobson or Amanda Lockwood on (01642) 393999.
