A CHRISTIAN campaign group has called for a licence to be withdrawn for a proposed sex extravaganza in the North-East.
The Christian Institute, which is leading opposition to next month's show at the Newcastle Telewest Arena, claims a series of bungles were made in the application for the three-day event.
Xsensual 2000 will feature displays of sex aids and lingerie, stalls selling x-rated books, videos and sex toys, plus saucy stage shows and lap dancing.
Scores of objection letters, plus an 86-name petition, were submitted to Newcastle City Council.
Now the Christian Institute has called for the "immediate withdrawal" of the licence, which it claims is null and void.
The institute said the application was wrongly made in the name of Style Image Ltd, a "non-existent" company, and not as Xsensual, to which it changed its name in October last year.
Jack Frere, chairman of Xsensual, said he was concerned at some of the claims and was considering legal action.
Newcastle City Council said it only received the complaint on Wednesday and was seeking legal advice over the claims
