ORGANISERS of a fun day in a north Durham village have an ulterior motive.
For the community activists at Tantobie hope the fun-makers will also air their views on how the area can be improved.
The Community Celebration Day on Sunday, is being organised by members of the Appraisal Project, who are drawing up an action plan to rejuvinate the area.
The group has delivered more than 900 questionnaires. Villagers will have a final chance to submit views during the fun day, which will be held in the South View playing fields, between 1pm and 5pm.
Resident and project volunteer Rosemary Black said: "We are looking forward to our Community Celebration Day and hope everyone will come along and enjoy themselves. They can also take the opportunity to add any views or ideas they have to the information already collected as part of the appraisal, before we start compiling our action plan."
Fun day attractions will include displays, activities for youngsters and competitions
