The last of the NYSD track and field meetings took place at Darlington on August 8 with all of the club's runners performing well
The Snaith twins filled the first two positions in the senior mens 100m with Kelvin winning in 11.9s and Allan second in 12.2s.
Mark Jackson was third in the senior men's 1500m in 4:44.0s and second in the long jump with 4.87.
Abi Silcock won the senior ladies triple jump with 8.63m and third in the 800m in 2:53.5s. Penny Wilson was sixth in the 800m U13 girls in 2:45.4 and Joanne Hutton third in the U17 girls 800m in 2:35.6s.
In the Darlington 10k road race, Shaun O'Grady had another good run to finish fifth in 32.14 on his 37th birthday. Helen Humphrey got back to form and finished third lady in 39.12.

On Sunday the ladies were at Leeds competing in the North of England Track and Field Division 4E and are in first position with one fixture to go and look like gaining promotion.

On Sunday the club hosted the 'Victorian Road Race', winning both mens and ladies team races with Shaun O'Grady winning the Mens Individual.
Taking place at Bydales Schoo, having competed in three track events the previous day, Shaun O'Grady did not go off at the gun and 'sat in' for a couple of miles. Shaun then hit the front with Paul Bentley of M&C and with 2 miles to go Shaun dropped Paul and went on to win in 33.15s. Paul Bentley finished 2nd in 33.22s with Jeff Laws (Gateshead) 3rd in 33.26s. First veteran and 4th overall was Tony Livingston (NMH) in 34.09. Alan Stimpson finished 6th in 35.03s, Sheila Allen (Houghton & Peterlee) won the ladies race, finishing 14th overall in 37.26s.

The senior men's team finished the season in fifth place in the North of England Mens League Division to retain their status as the North-East's top team in the Northern League.
Chris Tomlinson, the AAA indoor long jump champion and World Junior Championships qualifier, was again in outstanding form although he did not contest his main events.
He won his 100m in 11.1s and was close to his best over 200m in 22.4s before finishing second to Brian Hall, who is an established international in the high jump.
David Baldwin was third over 800m and Robert Cole scored heavily in the middle distance events with Des Fielden second in the 1500m.
The Mason brothers, Paul and Chris, won once again with prolific scores in the throwing events and Paul Wardingham and Kevin Allinson were in good form in the hurdles.

The Northern Ladies League team are now second in their division and with a home fixture at Clairville next month they can clinch promotion.
In the senior section, club captain Frank Hubbard has been in top form with wins in the 100m and shot putt and second places in the 200m and 400m.
Claire Archer won the hammer and was highly placed in the three other throws with team manager Chris Walton also winning the hammer.
Joanne Pybus again starred in the U17 age group winning the long jump with a massive 5.26m and also won the 200m in 27.7s. Carley Gayles won the high jump and was second in the 300m hurdles while Katrina Brown won the high jump and was second in the 200m and took third place over 100m.
In the U15 section Zoe Verrill won both the 800m and high jump while Anna Kirby also won her 800m race and claimed second spot in the high jump. Arise Barrlay won her 100m in 13.4s and was just pipped for first place over 200m and she was second in her shot putt competition which Charlene Chung won.

At the Wild Goose Chase, held at the Blacksmiths Arms, Preston-le-Skerne, Bob Davison was first back home in the 7k course in fifth place, claiming the first over 50 veteran prize in 29.10s. Next was 13-year-old Adam Gibson in 17th place in 34.05s, Chris Bowran 24th in 36.52s, Les Lump 27th in 37.23s and Debbie Halton 38th in 46.37s.
The club had two guests competing in the prestige Darlington 10k road race with holiday-makers Brian Bobolo and June Suchy from Canada running. They had been visiting relatives in Shildon and found the club after visiting their website and so trained with the club the previous week.
June and Brian are both active road runners and are members of Hamilton Harriers, Ontario. They are visiting Shildon, where June's father grew up, and enjoyed their visit to England as discovering their heritage has been their long time goal. The couple are already planning another visit to England next year to compete in the London Marathon.
