AN ambitious partnership project to regenerate a Guisborough beck is £500 richer thanks to the local town council.
The Chapel Beck Partnership Project is the brainchild of Bill Peacock of the local Rotary Club, and aims to make massive environmental improvements to the overgrown Chapel Beck that runs through the town.
Mr Peacock's scheme has the backing of many local residents, the town council, Guisborough Town Pride and Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council.
It involves a massive overhaul for the beck and a walkway, connecting Guisborough to Hutton at a cost of £50,000. Plans include planting bulbs and creating a water feature.
The council matched an earlier donation made by Guisborough Town Pride in the hope of attracting further funding for the beck development.
