RESIDENTS who claim they live on a 'speedway' are seeking traffic calming measures before a child is injured.
Three years after handing a 140-signature petition to Durham County Council, people in Ox Close Crescent, Spennymoor, say they are still waiting for action.
Ron Burnside, 70, who has lived there for 30 years, said the road is a hazard, especially with an infant and nursery school on the road and children's swings nearby.
He said: "There are road humps and traffic calming measures on all the roads around here, but this is a really fast road and nothing's been done. There's not even a speed limit sign."
Brian Gordon, of Ox Close Crescent, said: "It's very dangerous for the elderly people and children. It's just a speedway."
Sedgefield Borough Councillor Ben Ord is calling for a feasibility study to be carried out urgently on the road
