ARMED police arrested a man after an operation involving dozens of officers yesterday.
Police surrounded Swallow Court in Killingworth, North Tyneside, at 12.30pm after reports that a man, who had escaped from police custody, was seen in the area and was believed to be armed.
Police entered a house in Chaffinch Way where they arrested a 32-year-old man. No shots were fired
