PLANS by the Yorkshire Dales National Park authority to improve the quality of its services will be driven by public consultation.
As part of the Government's approach to getting best value from local government services, the authority is reviewing its development control service and the work it does on traffic and transport.
David Butterworth, acting chief executive, said: "The point of these reviews is to make real improvements to our services in the coming years. That means making the services better for the people who use them, and making sure that our services deliver the maximum possible benefit for the national park.
"With both reviews now well under way, we are consulting the many people and organisations who have recent first-hand experience of using these services. By listening to residents, visitors and the organisations that we work with, we will find out where we can improve, and do something about it." Proposals to be published this autumn would allow local people and others to say what they thought, he added.
The results of the reviews will be published in the best value performance plan, and in March every household in the park will receive a summary.
