CHILDREN took part in a special workshop yesterday to grow their own heads.
The workshop was one of a series of four, with model-making themes for earth, air, fire and water, which are being organised at Kirkleatham Old Hall Museum, near Redcar, in conjunction with Saltburn artists Helen Gaunt and Derek Mosey.
The heads were made from an old pair of tights, recycled material and water, so that grass seeds could be grown as hair.
Malcolm Steele, a museum attendant said: "It was brilliant, very messy, but fun.
"All the kids who attended really enjoyed themselves and went home covered in sawdust."
The next session at the museum will be tomorrow , when children are invited to make a wind spinner, a variation of a windmill.
There are also sessions on Tuesday, for children to make their own sundial and next Thursday, to make a balancing dolphin toy.
