A GROUP of schools on Teesside is a class apart when it comes to doing its hi-tech homework.
The innovative East Middlesbrough Education Action Zone, covering 20 schools, has launched its own global website.
Project director Dee Palmer-Jones, said: "The intention is to develop the website into a major resource for teachers, pupils and parents, by offering learning activities, careers information and links to other websites, as well as providing information to others about the zone and its activities.''
The website was put together with the help of two businesses.
Judith Healey is managing director of one of them, local consultants Talk Marketing.
She said: "Having been involved in the EAZ marketing strategy from the beginning, this is like putting one of the final pieces of the jigsaw in place. It is one of the initial recommendations that we made and we are delighted that it has now been implemented. We now look forward to developing the site further in the future with the help of the pupils."
The website was designed and implemented by four graduates at the University of Teesside, under the name Most Faithful Mirror.
Stephen Murray, one of the MFM's partners, said: "Encouraging pupils in the zone to interact and actively help the site to evolve into a productive working took, is a vision that had been shared by the EAZ, MFM and Talk Marketing from the beginning."
The EAZ, which was recently extended for a further two years, can be found on www.eastmiddlesbrougheaz.co.uk.
