Darlington Building Society's new mortgage Shop is open for business.
The deputy major of Darlington, Councillor Isobel Hartley, cut the ribbon to officially open the shop at a special event yesterday.
The shop, in Duke Street, Darlington, is situated in the heart of the estate agency district of the town. It will provide greater customer access to the society's mortgage product range. The premises have been designed to be customer focused where prospective mortgage customers can discuss their requirements in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
Peter Rowley, chief executive of Darlington Building Society, said: "The new Mortgage Shop will complement the society's 13 strong branch network, three of which are actually based in Darlington itself.
"Over the past 18-months, there has been an unprecedented demand for Darlington Building Society mortgages, " he said.
"As a result we are confident that the Mortgage Shop will provide a further boost to mortgage demand over the coming years."
Mr Rowley added: "Darlington Building Society is dedicated to looking after local interests.
"We feel this includes providing straight forward mortgage advice in a convenient, customer orientated environment where they are comfortable."
