YOUNGSTERS learned to shoot like Manchester United's David Beckham and dribble like Leeds United's Harry Kewell at a soccer skills day in Darlington.
More than 50 children aged from five to 14 were at Queen Elizabeth playing fields in Abbey Road for a course called Want To Learn?
The day was sponsored by Adidas, with matched funding from Sportsmatch, and run by Darlington Football Club's Football in the Community scheme.
Everyone who attended received a Euro 2000 football, T-shirt and Adidas water bottle.
Then the youngsters, from Darlington, Newton Aycliffe, Barnard Castle and all over South Durham, started practising their skills.
The day ended with a match so the children could put what they had learned into practice. Kevin Stonehouse, Darlington's Football in the Community officer, said: "I think the day has been a tremendous success.
"Every Football in the Community scheme round the country has done one and I think Adidas could make it an annual event.
"My target for next year will be looking to get into the more deprived areas of Darlington."
