VOLUNTEERS at a small north Durham amateur theatre group had a shock when they received an international phone call from a high-powered company asking them about their costumes.
Staff in the Dubai offices of the delivery firm TNT were so impressed by the Derwentside group's website that they arranged to fly over a member of staff to pick up 12 of their costumes for hire.
The company will use the costumes belonging to the Special Needs Unity Group (Snug) for a major production, before flying them back to the group's fancy dress shop in South Moor, Stanley.
"They said ours was the best website they had come across," said Snug spokesman Adam Chetter.
"Melanie Champion who runs our little shop said she just couldn't believe it.
