PUPPETEERS, fire-eaters and stilt-walkers are all part of today's bank holiday fun on Wearside.
Sunderland's streets are due to come alive for a family day, which also features live music from local band Trema, jugglers, and the Sun FM roadshow with music and games.
People of all ages are invited to take part in a talent show between 1pm and 3pm in High Street West.
Children can have their faces painted and sweets will be handed out to toddlers outside Joplings department store.
There is also a chance to win a sports car in support of the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust. The entertainment runs from 11am to 4pm.
City centre manager Chris Rawlinson said: "This year's bank holiday event will be bigger and better than ever, providing lively entertainment to encourage more visitors to Sunderland."
