Year 11 pupils at Durham High School for Girls have again achieved outstanding results in their GCSE examinations.
A total of 35 per cent of entries were graded at A*, with a further 30 per cent at grade A.
In all, 85 per cent of passes were grades A* to B, and no fewer then 14 girls - almost a third of the year group - gained A grades in all of the subjects taken.
Lynsey Cheffings, from Durham, gained 11 passes at A*, and Laura Creasy, from Langley Park, Kim Cummings, from Durham, Lauren Curtis, from Woodham Village, near Newton Aycliffe, and Emma Reilly, from Sedgefield, were all graded A* in ten subjects.
The 116-year-old school attracts pupils from an area extending from Teesside to Weardale and South Tyneside.
