POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a fatal hit and run road traffic accident.
The incident happened outside Hardwick Social Club, Stockton, on Teesside, at about 10.10pm on Sunday.
A 49-year-old Hardwick man, who has not been identified, was hit by what is thought to be a BMW car as he left the club and crossed the road at the pelican crossing. He died later in North Tees Hospital.
The car was travelling north along Harrowgate Lane in the direction of Bishopsgarth and failed to stop after the collision.
Two men from Stockton, aged 18 and 24, are helping police with their inquiries.
Police are interested in talking to anyone who knows the whereabouts of a blue BMW Three Series before or after the incident.
