WORK is continuing on one of Darlington's best-known landmarks. Steeplejacks on Darlington's Market Square Clock Tower have turned their attentions to the weather vane at the top of the tower, providing a spectacular sight on the town's skyline.
Other work carried out on the tower includes refurbishment of the roof, the weather vane and the clock face.
Work began on the landmark about a month ago, and is expected to continue until around November. A spokesman for Darlington Borough Council said: "Work is being carried out on the clock to give it a complete overhaul."
