A NEW drop-in centre is planned for young people in Saltburn.
The Doorways project is currently based in the Evangelical Church in Leven Street, which has recently undergone improvements. But project organisers feel a move to their own premises could help provide a better service.
Saltburn, Marske and New Marske Parish Council's planning committee has recommended a move to a former furniture shop in Milton Street. Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council is expected to give its approval.
Organiser Deborah Simpson said the project offered practical and emotional support to young people, offering advice on housing and benefits. She felt the bigger premises would enable users to take the initiative to organise things for themselves
