LITTLE Eilish Way came to her mother's rescue when she suffered an epileptic fit at home.
Cool-headed Eilish, seven, dialled 999 for an ambulance then rushed next door to get help from a neighbour. Eilish then went back home to help comfort her unconscious mum Sue before getting back on the phone where she was talked through putting her mum into the recovery position by staff at ambulance control.
Last night, proud Sue, of Beverley Road, Redcar, Teesside, said: "Eilish is an adorable child and I haven't stopped telling her how well she did. She was my saviour."
Sue, who has diabetes and asthma, had not had an epileptic fit in seven years since being diagnosed with the condition when she was 14.
She was treated at home by paramedics and is still recovering from her ordeal.
She said: "I remember having blackouts then coming to with the paramedics next to me.
"I wasn't aware of what was going on and I'm not back to normal yet. I bit my tongue very badly.
Ambulance station officer Peter Summerfield said Eilish had performed brilliantly. "To do what she did was absolutely marvellous."
Little Eilish, who is dyslexic, confessed: "I was sad and I was crying but I did what I was told to do and I'm happy my mum is okay."
