Crook B maintained their seven points lead at the top after they only dropped five points to the visiting Crook A. The B team had two points from David Stephenson, Steve Hunter and John Mason with John Warriner, Darren Tinkler and Cliff Owens adding one each. The A team's points came from Neil Campbell with two and Dave Leighton, Doug Bowey and Richard Walker with one each.
Shildon kept up the chase on Crook B when they only dropped five points on their trip to Durham. The home side had one point each from Andrew Morley, Dave Neill, Dave Hodgson, Paul Shutt and Gavin West. The Railwaymen had two points from Kevin Watson, Mal Parry and Martin Taylor, while Paul Armstrong, Rance Richardson and David Waites added one each.
Bishop Auckland won their home game against Ferryhill A by four points. There were two points each for Chris Peacock. Kevin Stewart and Chris Bowran, whilst Andrew Delve, Paul Willey and Michael Hoggart added one each. Ferryhill had two points from Dave Illingworth and one each from Andy Corfield, Frank Greenwood and Dave Bolton.

Bishop Auckland Cumberland Arms came through to take the two captain's points on their visit to St Helens Wheatsheaf to clinch a three point victory. The Wheatsheaf had two singles points from Mark Cliffe and one each from John Denham and Alan Young. The Cumberland moved ahead after the singles with two points from Ronnie Wright and Alan Tuesday with Colin Mason and Michael Barker adding one each. The Wheatsheaf pulled back to a 5-6 deficit when Simon Rolfe and Danny Parker won the doubles, but in both the captain's games the Cumberland landlord, Geoff Proud beat Alan Young.
The Olde Horse Shoe seem to have the title sewn up with their thirty-eight points lead at the top, but there will be a tight struggle for the runners-up trophies with Bishop Auckland Derby at present leading Bishop Auckland King's Head by one point.

Tow Law New Market B dropped three valuable points in their quest for the Championship when they visited Sunniside Moss Inn. The Market opened out with singles wins from David Spencer, Nigel Humble and Tommy Sloan but Tommy Carter, Terry Taylor and Ivor Childs levelled the match. The Market went to victory by taking all three doubles.
Tow Law Station whitewashed the ladies team from the Cattle Mart to move seven points clear at the top. The second place is shared between Tow Law New Market B and Lanchester King's Head with reigning champions, Sunniside Comedian a further five points adrift.

National CIU Singles Championship
The date for the quarter finals of the National Championship between Steve Wray of Ferryhill at home to Steve Webster of Garrfield Club, Barnsley has been changed to Thursday, September 7, at 8pm. Spectators are welcome, free of charge.
Trimdon and District League
The Royal hosted The Fox and Hounds A. The singles ended 4-2 to Royal with wins for D Langley, J Tatters, B Mercer and T knight with G Herron and W Scott reply for Fox. The Royal won the first two doubles games through D Langley and J Thompson and J Tatters and B Mercer while Fox won the final game through N Reddon and W Scott to make the final score 6-3 to Royal.

Craghead squandered a 2-0 lead at Blackhill Comrades and it cost them their place at the top of Division One.
It was all going to plan when David Watson and Gary Messer fired a two goal salvo.
But Blackhill then produced the form that saw them claim the runners up spot last season when they bounced back to win 3-2 with goals from David Cunningham, Gareth McGuigan and Richie Reynoldson.
Title favourites Stateside hit Annfield Plain Cricket Club for six. Mickey Ball scored twice for the home team as they lost out 6-2 to a Darren Bell hat-trick, Rod Butler double and a Darren Rowe goal.
There was a similar scoreline at Chopwell where Brannigans were the winners thanks to two goals from Neil Lowdon and others from Ryan Ridley, Mark Eccles, Gareth Slaven and Gary Clark.
Fountain Athletic romped to a 10-0 win at Stanley Central with Tommy Bushby scoring four goals and Mickey Wilson two others while Station Ex Juniors saw off the Freemasons 5-0.
An Anthony Day double still failed to save Flint Hill from a 3-2 defeat at home to Blackhall Mill whose match winners were Kevin Elan, Paul Tyas and Alan Rennison.
Shotley Bridge Vil lost their Division Two unbeaten record when they were beaten 3-2 at Beamish Bird Inn with two goal Darren Alberts and John Williams causing the damage as Ducan McCullouch and Barry Emery replied.
While one Bird Inn won 3-2, the other Dipton Bird were beaten by that scoreline at the Pack Horse. Hat-trick hero Tony Stephenson was the star of the show for Pack Horse as Graham Blackett and Stephen Green goals proved in vain for Dipton.
Brothers Paul and Tony Glyn, along with Danny Gilbert, all scored but in vain as they were beaten 6-3 at home by Annfield Plain Demi. Veteran striker Joe Smailes scored twice for the red hot Demi along with Lee Rainbow, Wayne Keenan, Tommy Wilson and Graham Parriott.
Ryan Stokoe and Stephen Nixon doubles along with a Chris Soulsby goal helped Leadgate Cricket Club win a cracker 5-4 against Delves Club.
There was another close game at Horse and Groom where the home side promotion bid was boosted by a 3-2 win over Tantobie. Gary Wright, David Sewell and John O'Neill were the match winners with Tony Harvey and Wayne Hardyman replying.
In Division Three, Darren Hazel scored twice for Winnings as did Kevin Turnbull for Steel Club in a 4-4 draw.
Unbeaten Lintz Cricket Club won 4-2 at Blackhill Crickets while an Ivan Moxon hat-trick and Shaun Little double helper steer East Stanley to an 8-3 win over Consett Top Club.
A solitary goal from Duncan Pearce saw Hat and Feather to victory over the Duke of Wellington while Medomsley Miners and the Peacock Inn ended goalless.
Mark Murray, Kevin Goodman and Carl Marshall gave Smelters Arms a 3-0 win at Annfield Plain Coach. Then reduced to ten men at the Coach hit back in the last 20 minutes with goals from Carl Gerry, Paul Moore and Ben Smith to salvage an unexpected 3-3 draw
