PLANS to build 56 homes on the site of a former County Durham steelworks have been unveiled.
Derwentside district council- lors are expected to grant permission next week.
The site of the former steelworks is now a multi-million regeneration area called Project Genesis which the council hopes will attract companies to the district.
The application is a resubmission with slight modifications of an earlier plan to build 58 homes on the land to the south of Parliament Street.
No objections have been received and planning officers have recommended councillors agree to the plans. Councillors will discuss the proposal on Thursday
