A FORMER Lord Lieutenant of Cleveland has been named as the new president of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, responsible for the Great Yorkshire Show.
Lord Gisborough succeeds outgoing president Warren Fenwicke-Clennell and his 12 months in office will culminate in next year's show, which runs from July 10-12.
And one of his first official duties will be chairing the society's council meeting on October 11, a key date in planning next year's event.
Lord Gisborough, who lives at Gisborough House in Guisborough, became Lieutenant of North Yorkshire when Cleveland was abolished as an administrative area in a shake-up of local authority boundaries.
He farms 1,000 acres, with an indoor lambing farm and arable unit, as well as 400 acres of forestry
