RESIDENTS are being invited to have their say on the future of one of Hartlepool's oldest parks.
Hartlepool Borough Council is urging residents to attend a meeting on Tuesday, September 12, in the hope that a group can be established to work with the authority to improve Burn Valley Gardens, near the town centre.
The gardens, which were opened in 1898, have a burn running through the middle and there are also woodland areas, paths, rock features and a playing field.
Angela Pallister, the council's community support officer, said yesterday: "From the first meeting we hope to set up a group where people can share ideas and take pride in what is potentially one of the town's most prized recreational assets."
The meeting takes place at Brinkburn Youth Centre, at 6.30pm.
