UNLIKELY artworks made from plywood and aluminium are featured in a Teesside gallery's latest exhibition.
The Cleveland Crafts Centre, in Gilkes Road, Middlesbrough, is the venue for a solo display entitled Passages, Forms and Baskets.
As the brainchild of the world famous basket-maker Maggie Henton, it uses the sort of quirky materials for which she is renowned in a variety of objects and wall hangings.
Ms Henton was inspired to branch out into new areas by a recent trip to Australia, where she took note of the desert landscape, time and space.
Julia Palmer, curator of the crafts centre, said she was delighted to host an exhibition by such a prestigious artist.
"It's an incredibly high standard of work from a very accomplished person," she said.
"The exhibition is a really lovely combination of her influences in Australia."
Passages, Forms and Baskets is on at the Cleveland Crafts Centre until October 28
