RESIDENTS are being asked for their views on plans to build a park shelter.
Leaflets have been sent out to homes on Hartlepool's Headland containing an artist's impression of how the proposed structure might look, together with a tear-off reply slip for comments on the plan.
If it goes ahead the brick shelter would overlook the town's Redheugh Gardens, its stainless steel roof treated to look like lead, supported by two pillars.
The shelter would have decorative side panels and two park bench-style seats.
The idea came from a public exhibition on proposed street improvements to the Headland area. Feedback from the exhibition, held in the Headland Library, last November, showed local people were enthusiastic about the idea.
Project manager Peter Graves said: "We need to know what Headland people think about the plans, so it's very important that residents complete and return the reply slips on the consultation leaflets.''
Dave Gouldburn, manager of the North Hartlepool Single Regeneration Budget Partnership, through which funds are being channelled, said: "We want to make sure we get the greatest possible consensus of opinion on the plan."
