Durham City manager Brian Honour believes his side are capable of re-launching their challenge for the league title - starting today against Marske United.

City lost 2-1 at champions Bedlington in midweek, going down to a controversial late penalty, despite playing for most of the game with only ten men.

"We showed that we can compete against Bedlington," he said. "The performance has given us plenty of belief that we can challenge them in the league, and also do well like they've done in cup competitions."

Central defender Micky Vasey could return to Honour's starting line up Marske have dropped only two points in five league games and have yet to concede a goal.

However, they will be without first choice keeper John Mohun, as well second choice Archie Moore, so Martin Balls will play between the posts. Midfielder Simon Kasonali returns.

Seaham Red Star take on Bedlington in a game between last season's top two.

Seaham are without defender Chris McCabe and striker David Ross, but Lee Graham and Marcel Lundy both return. Bedlington have got sickness and injury problems.

Warren Teesdale and Christian Graham both have food poisoning, while Micky Cross and Dean Gibb are both injured. Bedlington striker John Milner is already into double figures this season.

Both Jarrow Roofing and West Auckland have goalkeeping problems for their clash.

Jarrow are without injured keeper Micky Norris, so Keith Oliver or Dave Moore, both outfield players, will deputise. Seven other players are out.

West are without Andrew Sams who is injured, so Chris Ablewhite comes in. Defenders David Bainbridge and Carl Beesley are both unavailable.

Tow Law include two new players in their squad at home to Consett. They have signed midfielders Peter Croft and Scott Nicholson from Bishop Auckland and Crook respectively, but they are without Darren Darwent, Paul Hague, Kevin McGarrigle, Darren Timmens and Lee Innes.

Consett welcome back Trevor Laidler and Colin McLeod, who both missed the midweek game at Dunston, but they still have five players missing.

Billingham Town, who are at home to Newcastle Blue Star, welcome back Mark Casey, Richie Ward and Niall Southall to a full squad.

Chester-le-Street manager Paul Bryson is hoping to return to their starting line up after missing the midweek cup defeat by Liversedge. Michael Errington and Greg Bainbridge are als oadded to the squad. Oppoents Hebburn, who have started the season well, include Gary Attwell and Mark Diamond.

Easington are looking for revenge against Whitley Bay after losing 5-0 to them a fortnight ago. Gavin Naylor, Mark Nicholson and David Black all return, while Andy Davies and Jon Constantine are both injured. Whitley include new defender Chris Pearson - who was previously at Easington - after signing him from Gretna, but midfielder Marc Nash is unavailable, and striker Steve Cuggy is injured.

In the second division, Shildon, boosted by their first win of the season in midweek, should be at full strength for the trip to Penrith, with Andrew Bowes added to the squad
