BUSINESSES across the North-East are being urged to get in the pink and raise cash for breast cancer research.
Next month is breast cancer awareness month and the Cancer Research Campaign plans to sell pink ribbons to mark the event.
The ribbons can be bought with a minimum donation of £1 and boxes of them are available from hundreds of campaign shops across the country.
Jacky Spence, the Cancer Research Campaign's regional fundraising manager, said: "Anyone who can help take some pink ribbons will be making a significant contribution to efforts to save the lives of more women."
On October 6, a Get In The Pink day will be held, when it is hoped people will make a donation to do all sorts of wacky things such as wearing a pink wig at work or holding a pink cake sale.
